Last updated: 12 June 2026 ยท This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the GDPR.
This website is operated by Animator Malta ("we", "us", "our"), based in Malta. We are committed to protecting your personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Maltese Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta).
We are the data controller responsible for your personal data and for this website (animatormalta.com).
We collect personal data when you:
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run your event:
We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health information) except where you choose to disclose it โ for example a child's allergy or medical condition โ so that we can deliver the event safely. Where you share such data, we process it on the basis of your explicit consent and, in an emergency, to protect someone's vital interests (GDPR Articles 9(2)(a) and 9(2)(c)).
| Why we use it | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| To confirm, organise and deliver your booking | Performance of a contract |
| To keep records, invoice and meet tax/legal duties | Legal obligation / legitimate interests |
| To send occasional news, seasonal offers and discounts | Your consent (optional โ you can withdraw any time) |
| To keep the website secure and improve it | Our legitimate interests |
You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time (see Section 10). We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers ("processors") who help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect your data:
Payments are usually made by bank transfer. Where card or online payments are used, they are handled by secure third-party payment providers. We do not collect or store your full card or bank-card details on our own systems.
Some of our providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) are in place to protect your data.
We keep enquiry and booking data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, plus any period required by law (for example, accounting and tax records are kept for the period required under Maltese law). Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email animator.malta@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free, although we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse clearly unfounded or excessive requests, as permitted by law.
We only send marketing messages if you opted in. Every marketing message includes an easy way to unsubscribe, and you can also opt out any time by emailing us. We do not spam, and we only reach out when there is something genuinely worth your attention.
Our services are arranged by and for adults (parents, guardians, event organisers). We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. Any information about children (such as ages or allergies) is provided by the booking adult, who confirms they have the authority to share it, to help us deliver the event safely.
When you interact with us on Facebook or Instagram, those platforms process your data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Our website may contain links to, or embedded content from, third parties (such as booking widgets, maps or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party services.
With your permission, we may publish your feedback, review or photos from your event on our website or social media. You can ask us to remove a testimonial or image at any time by emailing us.
The website uses essential cookies/local storage needed for it to function (for example, remembering your day/night theme choice). If we use analytics or embedded third-party tools (such as booking widgets, maps or social embeds), those may set their own cookies. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
If you have a concern, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Maltese supervisory authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) โ idpc.org.mt.
